I never considered how I felt could possibly be more than summertime blues. Luckily, I feel mine related to circumstances rather than actual chemical imbalances. I live where the sun always shines and we do not experience changes in the seasons. I physically crave a different climate and summer usually hits me the hardest. Currently, I’m researching new locations and discovered your blog while looking in to Minneapolis. I’ve enjoyed the few posts I’ve read and look forward to reading more. Thank you!

It is tough. Calling it what it is helps some, but I wish you peace.

Angela, I went back and listened to the song for the hundreth time…and you’re right! It’s “snare.” (I debated which word she sings for so long. I think I wanted it to say “stare” for deep and personal reasons. Ha!) I hope you find respite in the melancholy months of summer.

Where I live, the heat is so unbearable in the summer, it deters outdoor activity, the streets are quiet and empty.

I wouldn’t say I have seasonal depression, or any kind of depression really, but I am in a period of my life where I’m not particularly happy. But it is because of certain events in my life (I’m in a long distance relationship, my boyfriend just left after visiting me for 2 weeks, I’m awaiting some really important news, etc), so my mind is all over the place and I’m trying to find my footing again and trying to be okay with being alone and on my own (and transitioning from having my boyfriend here to only seeing him on Skype). It’s tough. But reading this blog helped!
